WELCOME TO BELLCO
Once upon a time, in 1938, a small group of local people created a new financial institution, Bellco Telephone Federal Credit Union, was born. Since establishment, we have removed “Telephone” from our name, but have added many easy-to-use financial products and services. We exist to serve the people and small businesses of Berks County, Pennsylvania.
You may ask, "What Makes Bellco better than the bank next door?"
Well, we are a community-based and not-for-profit federal credit union, meaning you’re a member, not a customer. What’s the difference? Being a credit union member means that you own a part of that organization; it’s as simple as having $5.00 in your savings account. That’s right - as a member, you have the ability to vote for (and even run for) the board of directors and participate in important decision-making processes. Say goodbye to stockholders deciding what’s best for you and your community’s finances!
While “membership” sounds pretty exclusive (and believe us, you’ll feel super exclusive), it’s quite easy to become a member. All you have to do is live, work, go to school, or worship in Berks County. Your immediate family can join, too, regardless of where they live, work, go to school, or worship! The best part? Once you become a member, you’re a member for life. So, if you move out of the state, get a new job in another county, etc., you won’t have to find a new financial institution. Pretty cool, right?
Bellco’s Shared Branching network allows you convenient and easy access to travel stress-free, knowing you can access your funds and member services at any credit union in the country.
