Ask Yourself These Two Questions:
1. Has the check been sent to you with a letter
from a company, lottery, or person you may not know?
2. Do you need to deposit it and
then send a portion to someone else as “payment”, “deposit”, “taxes”,
or for some other reason?
If so, please talk to a Member Service Representative. If
you receive a fraudulent check, deposit it and use the funds,
you will still be liable -even after a check hold clears for
the funds you have used or sent to someone else that “bounce.” Protect
yourself and Bellco FCU by learning how to identify these scams.
