Because of new federal regulations, we will now require your consent before
we provide you with overdraft services for everyday debit card and ATM transactions.
At Bellco Federal Credit Union, we have strived to pay your debit card and ATM transactions regardless of whether funds exist in your account. But, if you haven’t told us that you want us to continue this practice, we may have to start declining your card.Because of these new federal regulations, we will require that all account holders give us permission to cover ATM and everyday debit card transactions in the event of an overdraft, even if we have done so in the past. If you don’t give us that consent by opting-in, we will be forced to decline your card when you do not have enough money in your account.
The purpose of this information is to assist you with making an informed decision regarding these new requirements and to provide you with a means to notify us of your choice. Your decision for opt-in or opt-out will take effect August 15, 2010.
Deciding whether to opt-in to overdraft services is an important decision. We encourage you to consider your lifestyle, spending habits and record-keeping processes and how frequently you use your ATM and debit cards before you choose which option is best for you.Bellco will send a letter of explanation and an Opt-in Disclosure to all members who have a MasterMoney Debit Card. To Opt-in, simply complete the form and return it to the credit union.
